Luke Johnson is an artist and researcher based in Red Deer, Alberta, on the border of Treaty 6 and Treaty 7 territories and the Métis Nation. Working in print, photography, and durational engagements within collections, Johnson creates work that complicates notions of standardization and categorization within systems of knowledge. He received his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his MFA from the University of Alberta, where he taught printmaking and drawing from 2019 to 2023. He currently teaches various two-dimensional media and creativity at Red Deer Polytechnic.
