In this Episode SEF team members writer Lisa Moore (Memorial University), artist Sean Caulfiled (University of Alberta), Sheena Wilson and Patrick Mahon talk about a short story collection and a children’s book, that they produced to probe questions as to how and why the imagination and storytelling are so important to furthering the challenging work that SEF is doing. We Were In It is a beautifully illustrated story collection, with written contributions from a wide range of SEF team members, and visuals by Kamei Lim. It was published by Memorial University Press in 2025, and edited by Lisa Moore and Sheena Wilson. Find it on the Memorial University Press site here. Planet For Sale is a children’s book for all of us. Written by Steven Hoffman in a “Seussian” style, and illustrated with Sean Caulfield’s darkly wondrous prints, it is a volume that has much to teach, and to entertain.
